The county’s Circuit, District, and Probate offices share a Charlotte complex but use different custodians and telephone lines. Use the routing below to reach the official office for a docket, setting, copy, or record request.

Need an Official Docket or Record?

Start with the court identified by the public case result or the case number. The Eaton County Clerk / Circuit Court Clerk, Kimberly Morris, maintains Circuit and Family Division records. The 56A District Court clerk’s office maintains its own criminal, civil, traffic, parking, civil-infraction, small-claims, and preliminary-examination records. The Probate Register maintains Probate records.

  • Circuit or Family record: call the Circuit Clerk at 517-543-4335.

  • Traffic or civil-infraction matter: call 56A District Traffic at 517-543-3359.
  • Probate case: call Probate Court at 517-543-4185.

The primary court complex is at 1045 Independence Boulevard, Charlotte, MI 48813. General court administration is 517-543-7500. Public business-office hours in the court-hours order are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.; call the appropriate office before travelling because a page-specific service line can differ.
